With 20 world titles including rider and manufacturer championships and unsurpassed commercial success over time, the Aprilia RS is symbolic of the Noale manufacturer’s sports DNA. It made its début in ’92 as the first example of what was to become the true essence of Aprilia – the constant exchange of knowledge between the track and the road that informs the sport and commercial spirit. The Venetian manufacturer’s first world title came in the 125 class, with Alessandro Gramigni in 1992; the latest – of the twenty it has collected – arrived in 2011, at the hands of Nico Terol. In between were two decades of near-absolute domination in the segment which clinched the title as the most victorious European racing team in Grand Prix motorcycle racing.
